Considered to be the leading Mediterranean-themed aquarium in the world, when visiting Barcelona Aquarium we are surrounded by the Mediterranean’s ecosystems and marine communities. However, amongst 5 million liters of water in the 21 large aquariums, and a spectacular oceanarium, it is also possible to observe fauna from the Red Sea, the Caribbean and the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
Having received more than 1.5 million visitors in 2022, L’Aquàrium de Barcelona plays an important role in engaging the community with ocean conservation efforts.
